Welcome To First Learn How

The object of this web site is to assist the complete novice to learn how to use a computer and the world wide web (www).

It will also look at using the internet as a marketing tool and how to use the internet to start, (and run), your own business, if that is what you would like to do.

Information for the complete novice. First learn how to navigate this page.

The bar on the far right of the page is called the scroll bar. You place your cursor (the white pointer) on the bar and while holding the left mouse button down you can move the page up and down. This will allow you to read all the content on this page.

You can also just place the cursor on the small arrowhead at the bottom (or top) of the scroll bar and every time you click the left mouse button the page will go down (or up) one line of text.

If you wish to move up (or down) a page at a time then place the cursor in the space above (or below) the colored portion of the bar and click on the left mouse button.

You may also come across the occasion when the text is wider than the computer screen you are using. Should this happen there will be a scroll bar on the bottom of the page. This is moved in the same way as the up and down scroll bar only now moving left and right.

To use this website you need to 'navigate' between pages. (That is go from one page to another) You do this by clicking on the links on the left hand side of the page. On this site the links are in the brown rectangles. The page you are on now is the home page so to come back here after you have gone to another page just click on the brown rectangle that says 'Home'.

First we will look at 'The basics of using a computer' This will include
